Anti-wrinkle treatments
A non-surgical injectable treatment that may help soften the appearance of fine lines and dynamic wrinkles — carried out by trained dental professionals in a clinical setting.
Consultation required · Cooling-off period offered
About the treatment
What are anti-wrinkle injections?
Anti-wrinkle injections involve the use of a prescription-only botulinum toxin product, administered via a very fine needle into specific facial muscles. By temporarily reducing muscle movement in targeted areas, the treatment may reduce the appearance of expression lines that form with repeated facial movement.
The treatment does not alter the structure of the face or remove tissue. It is not a permanent solution, and results will fade naturally over time. For volume restoration or contouring concerns, we may also discuss dermal filler treatments.
Important — regulated treatment
Anti-wrinkle injections using prescription-only medicines are regulated treatments in the United Kingdom. All consultations include a full medical and suitability assessment. A cooling-off period will be offered before any treatment proceeds. Results vary between individuals.

Fine vertical lines around the lip border, sometimes called "smoker's lines".

Your appointment
What to expect
Consultation & medical assessment
A full consultation is carried out to review your medical history, discuss your concerns, and assess your suitability for treatment. No treatment will take place at this stage.
Cooling-off period
In line with best practice guidance, you will be offered time to reflect before consenting to proceed. This allows you to make an informed decision without pressure.
Treatment appointment
The injections are administered using a very fine needle. Most patients tolerate the procedure well. The appointment is typically brief, though timing varies per individual.
Aftercare & review
You will be provided with written aftercare instructions. A follow-up appointment is offered to assess your response and address any questions.
Suitability
Who may be suitable?

Adults in good general health who are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
Realistic expectations
Patients who understand that results are temporary and individual outcomes vary.
Suitability assessment
Patients assessed as suitable by the treating practitioner following a full consultation.
Completed consultation process
Patients who have completed the required consultation process, including any cooling-off period.
This treatment is not suitable if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a known allergy to botulinum toxin, have certain neuromuscular conditions, are taking certain medications, have an active skin infection at the site, or are under 18 years of age.
Results & risks
Realistic expectations
The effects of anti-wrinkle injections are temporary. The duration of results varies from person to person and is typically measured in months rather than years. Results cannot be guaranteed.
Potential side effects may include temporary redness, mild swelling, or bruising at the injection site, headache, or temporary heaviness of the brow. Serious complications are uncommon but can occur. Your practitioner will discuss all risks with you prior to treatment.
